Aperol Margarita Spritz! I had some friends over

Aperol Margarita Spritz!

I had some friends over the other day and made up a specialty drink that is a combination of my two favorite cocktails. Perfect for summer sips. Enjoy.

Makes 2 generous drinks
Big batch recipe follows

3 oz Tequila - I used Casamigos Reposado
2 oz Aperol
6 oz Dry Sparkling Wine
3 oz Orange Juice
2 oz Lime Juice (unsweetened)

(If you like a tart drink use more lime juice, less orange juice)

Pour all ingredients into a cocktail shaker with ice and shake gently.
Salt the rims of two glasses and fill with ice.
Strain the drink while you pour into glasses.
Garnish with an orange slice. Yum!

BIG BATCH VERSION (makes over 5 quarts)
1 750 ml bottle of Tequila
2 cups Aperol
2 bottles Sparkling Wine
3 cups Orange Juice
2 cups Lime Juice

Big Batch Cranberry Spice Infused Vodka

Sharing a recipe for some holiday cheer!
Makes a great homemade gift or tasty cocktails for a holiday gathering.

BIG Batch Recipe
1 - 2lb Bag of @oceansprayinc Fresh Cranberries
2 - 1.75 Liter Bottles of Tito's Vodka @titosvodka
The Peel from 1 Large Orange - use a vegetable peeler to gather just the orange part, avoid the pith.
1-2 - Tablespoons of Whole Cloves
6-8 - Cinnamon Sticks
Feel free to amp up the spices or add others.

Roughly chop 2/3rds of the cranberries.
Put all the cranberries, orange peel and spices in a large container that seals well. Pour in the vodka. Stir then seal the container and set aside in a cool place for 3 to 10 days.

After several days, strain the vodka into a clean container. You can divide into several smaller bottles for gifting.

The vodka is ready to enjoy. Try mixing with Ginger Beer for a tasty Yule Mule. More recipes to follow next week after this batch is ready!

Always drink responsibly. Merry Christmas to those who celebrate and a happy, healthy new year to all!
