Cocktail of the Week:  The Jasmine Cocktail

Jasmine Specialty Cocktail

It is Oscar Sunday and if you are looking for a sophisticated specialty cocktail to brighten your party try a Jasmine Cocktail.  This twist on a Negroni blends the earthiness of Campari with smooth citrus Cointreau and Lemon for a snappy sip.   

1 ½oz Gin
¾oz Fresh-squeezed Lemon Juice
½oz Cointreau
½oz Campari
Lemon Twist for garnish 

Fill a cocktail shaker with ice, add Gin, Lemon Juice Cointreau, Campari.  Shake well then strain as your pour into a chilled martini glass or coupe.  Garnish with a Lemon Twist.

Cocktail of the Week: Blackberry Bubbler

Blackberry Bubbler This time of year clients and friends are always interested in sparkling cocktails. Sweet, fresh blackberries combined with the earthiness of Campari make this sparkler a sophisticated sip.

Fresh Blackberries
Your favorite Prosecco or Sparkling Wine – approximately 4oz per cocktail
¾ oz Campari

Add Campari and 3 Blackberries to a cocktail shaker and muddle well. Fill ¾ of a champagne flute with Sparkling Wine, top with Blackberry and Campari mixture. Garnish with a Blackberry. Enjoy!
If you prefer a sweeter drink, try a sweeter sparkling wine or add ¼ teaspoon of simple syrup.

As the story goes, sometime in the 1920s reputed playboy, Count Camillo Negroni sauntered into Bar Casoni in Florence, wanting a strong drink, the Count ordered an Americano with gin instead of soda and created the Negroni cocktail. Whether you prefer the bittersweet Americano or the kick of a Negroni these Campari cocktails will spice up your party!

Americano:
1 ½ oz Campari
1 ½ oz Sweet Vermouth
Club Soda
Orange Slice for garnish
Fill a Collins glass with ice pour Campari and Sweet Vermouth over ice. Top with Club Soda. Garnish with an Orange Slice.

Negroni:
1 ½ oz Campari
1 ½ oz Sweet Vermouth
1 ½ oz Gin
Orange Twist for Garnish
Fill a rocks glass with ice pour Campari, Sweet Vermouth and Gin over ice. Garnish with an orange twist.
